Fourteen years in the ICU taught me where healing really begins.
With fourteen years of experience in critical care, spanning neonatal, pediatric, and surgical and trauma ICU, I have dedicated my career to helping patients in their most vulnerable moments. During the pandemic, I served as a FEMA reservist for two and a half years, traveling across Texas to care for COVID-19 patients in the ICU.
That experience changed me. Witnessing so many lives lost, I kept asking myself: what could we have done better? The answer became clear. Prevention and education. I realized that improving overall health could lead to better outcomes, and that realization shifted my path.
In a hotel room at the Texas border, I made a life-changing decision. I called my husband and said, I'm changing my focus from critical care to family practice. I transitioned to a new university, driven by a newfound passion for preventative medicine.
Inspired by this definition of the word Vitale, "the power giving continuance of life," I have built this practice around helping individuals reach their fullest potential in health and well-being.
I may not be able to change the entire world, but if I can change even one life, I know I'm making a difference.

New to Direct Primary Care?
Most people are new to the model. These are the questions we hear first.
What is Direct Primary Care?
A membership model of medicine. Instead of billing insurance for every visit, the practice charges one flat monthly rate. That frees your appointments from the fifteen-minute clock and lets your provider spend her time on you instead of paperwork.
Do I still need insurance?
Membership is not insurance. Most people keep a plan for emergencies, hospital care, and specialists, and use Vitale for everything primary care covers. You can also use your insurance for laboratory testing at the lab of your choice.
Is Vitale right for me?
Membership fits people who value unrushed, personal care, want direct access to their provider, prefer transparent pricing, and care about prevention and long-term wellness. Every membership starts with your own history, labs, and goals, so your plan is yours, not a protocol.
What does membership cost?
$99 a month, with no deductibles and no copays. Labs, imaging, medications, hormones, vaccines, cosmetic treatments, and IV therapy are billed separately, with low cash-pay rates for lab and imaging work. FSA and HSA plans are accepted.
Do I have to be a member?
No. Pay-as-you-go visits are available if you prefer flexibility, and you can use your insurance for laboratory testing and diagnostics at the lab of your choice. For ongoing care, membership keeps it simple.
